Since 1987, Open Door has placed over 2,700 children with families across the United States. Beginning the process of adoption can seem quite daunting. We will help make the process easier for you by walking with you each step of your adoption journey
A mother considering adoption loves her baby. She wants to give her child a life she feels incapable of providing. Our experienced adoption consultants stand ready to counsel these mothers and assist them in selecting the most suitable families for their children. By limiting the number of couples in our program, wait times are shortened. Typically, couples are matched with a baby in under a year, whereas other agencies may take two to five years.
Like any form of parenting, adopting an infant requires a unique level of commitment. In the U.S., it is not uncommon for couples to encounter at least one revocation in their adoption journey. This happens when a mother changes her mind after signing surrender documents. Nonetheless, with determination, couples eventually find themselves matched with the child they were purposed to have. I have personally witnessed, with delight, the sheer elation that accompanies the moment when parents finally meet the child they have longed for. What an incredible journey!
